About Us
OWNERS/INSTRUCTORS
Jon and Suzanne Carpenter have been licensed Driver's Education Instructors for 20+ years by TDLR. They have taught Driver's Education in Grayson County and at their own school in Whitesboro, which opened in 2019. Jon is also licensed by the DPS Third Party to administer road tests from our location. Both hold master's degrees in education, special education, and counseling and are retired from full time careers in public schools, charter schools, and college level adult education programs.
"We love teaching Driver's Education and we want our students to learn safety skills and to make progress with confidence in their driving tasks. We also strive to get our students and their families to the door of DPS successfully and be able to have a stress-free experience when obtaining their permits and driver's licenses."
CLASSROOM CURRICULUM
AC Driving School has a new classroom curriculum from AAA. This is a nationally recognized and researched based curriculum updated for components in safe driving skills and education, the science of physics, how to avoid car crashes, maintaining a vehicle, laws, signs, road rules, and many other items that will help your teen in becoming a safe and competent driver. This curriculum uses instructional videos and Power Points, but also relies on textbooks and written materials. Other state mandated topics are also included by AC Driving for a very thorough package. We don't just rely on screens or solitary student work, but require our students to have rich discussions while engaging in interactive, hands-on activities.
